The Map of Mathematics above shows the three main branches of math: Foundation, Pure and Applied Mathematics. Within each group there are many smaller branches of Math. You may feel that certain math concepts and topics that you learn in school has no relevance in your life. However the math that you learn in school forms the basic foundation of more useful and applicable types of math.
